  • Consultant in the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Service and Head of the Pelvic Floor Unit since 1989

  • Special interest in urogynaecology, laparoscopy and gynaecological oncology
  • Since 1992 we have introduced various diagnostic and surgical techniques into our Urogynaecology Service:
    • Urethra and bladder ultrasound
    • 3-D/4-D study of the pelvic floor
    • Mouchel urethropexy
    • Laparoscopic Burch procedure
    • Tension-free transobturator techniques (inside-out and outside-in)
    • Techniques for reconstructive pelvic surgery both laparoscopically and vaginally (leaders in the use of synthetic mesh)
    • Chronic pelvic pain
  • Endoscopy:
    • Benign pathology (adnexal pathology, hysterectomy, endometriosis of the rectovaginal wall and surgery for genital malformations)
    • Oncological pathology (laparoscopic treatment of cancers of the cervix, endometrium, ovary and vagina)
  • Organizer of the Introduction to Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery Course (The first course took place in 1994. As of now, .. editions have been held.)
  • Organizer of more than 30 courses in gynaecological, endoscopic and pelvic floor surgery
  • Speaker and surgeon in various national and international conferences and courses.
  • Active member and participant in the creation of the Pelvic Floor Section and Gynaecological Endoscopy Section of the Catalan Society of Gynaecology and the Spanish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics
  • Published author of multiple articles in national and international journals
  • Teacher in multiple pelvic floor and laparoscopy surgical training sessions in hospitals in Spain, Portugal and Belgium
  • Associate Professor of Gynaecology at the University of Barcelona
  • Co-director of the Master of Advanced Gynaecological Surgery by Laparoscopy at the University of Barcelona
  • Co-director of the International School of Gynaecological Endoscopy (EIDEG in Spanish) founded in 2007 with the support of the ESGE (European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy)
