In the framework of the fourth edition of the continuing medical training course in sacral neuromodulation in pelvic floor dysfunctions promoted by the Coloproctology Unit-belonging to the General Surgery Service of the HUMT, last week was held a conference on defecatory dysfunction, proctology and sacral neuromodulation.

They are part of the in-site Workshops of the medical neuromodulation training course initiated last year and are characterized by the clinical immersion of the assistants who join the activity of the Unit, participating in both external consultations and academic sessions. Surgical


The direction of the course, inaugurated last April, is the responsibility of Dr. Arantxa Muñoz, Chief Clinic of Surgery of HUMT and is endorsed by a long career and academic care of its professionals in terms of diagnosis and treatment of incontinence fecal and other defecatory disorders, as well as advanced proctology.


These days are part of the set of teaching activities that the HUMT Coloproctology Unit develops nationally and internationally after having been the pioneer and most experienced center in Spain in the use of this treatment since last 1997.
