Dr. Esther Calbo participates in the "La nit dels savis" program of Canal Terrassa
Last Friday, December 15, the theme chosen was infectious diseases, on the occasion of the twenty-sixth edition of the TV3 Marathon that was held the following weekend. Undoubtedly, this typology of diseases is the cause of one in three deaths in the world and at the same time they have become a major public health problem. They are caused by pathogenic microorganisms that enter the body and multiply until they cause the disease.
Apart from Dr. Calbo, an infection control professional from CST as well as the president of the Liver Transplants Association also intervened. In addition, HUMT also provided one of its patients - Mr. Antonio Sánchez - who explained his testimony regarding the infection he suffered from Clostridium difficile. During the course of the program, Dr. Calbo explains which are the main infectious diseases as well as the characteristics, symptoms and particularities of each of them.
