IM Medical magazine echoes the sensitivity of the Gynecology and Obstetrics department of the HUMT to the pelvic floor
As a result of increased awareness of the problem of pelvic floor injuries, in the last two decades the Gynecology and Obstetrics Service has modified its way of doing tocology, always with the premise of protecting the pelvic floor. In this sense, he has been and is a striker in this change of trend at the level of the Spanish state, for 20 years he has been practicing the pelvic floor ultrasound as a mechanism to diagnose these pathologies in time and is a pioneer in the search of the applications of the ultrasound in the pelvic floor.
During the three pages of the report, Dr. Antoni Pessarrodona, Chief of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service of the HUMT and Dr. Jordi Cassadó, coordinator of the same service give all the details regarding the way of doing the service towards primary prevention and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions. As a complement, the report also incorporates a brief section on focused HIFU ultrasound technology.
