Last February, the data presented by the Master Plan for Cerebral Vascular Disease of the Department of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia (Register of the Stroke Code of Catalonia) showed that the HUMT is the leading center of Catalonia in the performance of the Ictus code since it has a "door-needle" time of only 26 minutes (12 below the average of 38 that the other centers have).

In addition, it was also explained that since last 2014, the HUMT has always occupied the first or second position of this ranking, composed of the 26 Catalan hospitals that have Stroke Code. Given the relevance of the issue, the morning magazine "El Submarino" of Radio Terrassa interviewed -on Monday, March 12- Dr. Krupinsi, head of the Neurology service, and the program "We are all the same" of Radio Estel spoke in it the day 7.
In the course of both interviews, he explained the set of factors that have made it possible for HUMT to assume this leadership. Regarding thrombectomy, he commented that the center has all the technical and human resources available to perform this technique and can treat patients who are candidates for thrombectomy as other tertiary stroke centers, which are currently all located in the metropolitan area of Barcelona.
In terms of trajectory, he commented that the HUMT implemented the Stroke Code in 2006 and therefore has a trajectory of 12 years in its application and with benchmark results in the last 4 years. Dr. Krupinski also explained that the HUMT works with a multidisciplinary organizational model - integrated by professionals from the Emergency Service, Intensive Care Medicine, Radiology and Neurology - and in terms of technology explained that it has two haemodynamic rooms as well as advanced imaging equipment .
