The one of 2012 was a record Marathon. Dedicated to the fight against cancer, obtained a final collection of almost twelve million four hundred thousand euros. A very important amount that allowed to start up 42 scientific research projects of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools.

The Digestive Apparatus Service of HUMT presents the results of the research project funded by the 2012 Marathon
One of these was the one presented by Dr. Fernández Bañares, adjunct to the service of the Digestive Device of the HUMT under the title "Prediction of advanced colonic neoplasia in symptomatic patients within the circuit of rapid diagnosis of colorectal cancer through a result based on the immunological test. Fecal (Study COLONOTIF) ". Apart from other professionals of the same service - members of the Center for Biomedical Research in the Liver and Digestive Diseases Network (CIBERehd) - the project also involved professionals from Catlab, the Oncology Plan of Catalonia (IDIBELL) and the Digestive services both from the Terrassa Health Consortium and the Parc Taulí Hospital.
The La Marató Foundation of TV3 presented, on Monday, June 4, the results of this and the other projects in a day in which the scientists who led them participated. To disseminate more widely the advances presented in this symposium, a special program called "The Night of the Researchers" has been prepared, which TV3 will broadcast on Monday, June 11.
