On 29 November, the Morbid Obesity Committee of the MútuaTerrassa University Hospital is organising an informational session intended for patients with morbid obesity who are candidates for weight loss surgery as part of their treatment.



Today, morbid obesity is a serious health concern and the number of patients who are affected continues to rise. Furthermore, this excess weight brings with it the onset of other diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart failure, respiratory failure, joint pain, etc. Not to mention, disturbances due to body image, social reject, depression, etc. In short, today morbid obesity is considered to be a multifactorial chronic disease.
