The service of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology of the HUMT participates in the 54 Congress of the SECOT

Between September 26th and 28th, the 54th Congress of the SECOT (Spanish Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology) took place in Barcelona and six faculties of the service traveled with the purpose of presenting their communications and participating in this event of reference for the professionals of this specialty, this time jointly held the 2nd Ibero-Latin American Congress of Orthopedics and Traumatology.

Dr. Sandra Huguet won the award for the best communication presented at the conference, with a paper on the role of cultures obtained by sonication of prosthetic spacers. She collected the award from Dr. Marco, President of SECOT.


In this sense, Dr. Agustí Bartra, physician of the TOC service, presented two communications: "Good diet and sport, is it possible for a surgeon?" and "Failure of Proximal Fixation to Hip Fractures. Dr. Margarita Veloso, resident physician, presented a communication on a new strategy to control the pain of patients with femur fracture, with the title: Ilio-fascial block in the analgesia of femur fracture proximal to urgencies.


Among other members who participated in this congress, we highlight the presence of Dr. Alfredo Matamala, Dr. Lluís Font and Dr. David Mateu.
